Hi Neighbor 2010!

Your team is cordially invited to the 33rd Annual Adult Hi Neighbor Volleyball Tournament.  The Hi Neighbor has been a part of volleyball in the southeast for longer than many of the current players have been alive…. It’s more than a local tournament, for many it is a team/family tradition!

The Hi Neighbor provides the opportunity to test your team against opponents from outside your region. Meet new players and renew old acquaintances.  Enjoy the game, and the Social, again!

The Hi Neighbor is a sanctioned USA Volleyball tournament and as such, all teams must be sanctioned. Uniform rules will be enforced. Teams are required to have certified referees and scorekeeper.

Hosted by AES in the style of the “big modern tourneys” the site will allow you to:

Ø  Register your team for the tournament

Ø  Reserve rooms in the host hotel room block, with special access to the Social

Ø  Reserve your Hi Neighbor Tee Shirt

o   (Only a very limited number will be available for purchase onsite without pre-order)

Ø  Register to play golf on Friday

Ø  Learn your gym and pool assignments

Ø  Download Directions to playing sites

Ø  View Pool and Playoff Results shortly after play concludes

Ø  Ask questions and find answers!

SO HOW DOES IT WORK?

Your Team Rep (the person who knows all the USAV registration numbers) should log into our AES website. To do that: Go to Advanced Event Systems.

Ø  First you SIGN IN (if you already have an account) or create an ACCOUNT for your Club (even if you are only one team): 

o   (once you have a CLUB in the system you can simply enter any AES tournament including Adult Nationals)

1. Login to your existing account (you will skip to step 3)… or select CREATE NEW ACCOUNT from the menu on the left under Do It!
2. Select CREATE CLUB DIRECTOR account.  Fill in the information about your club.
3. Add yourself as Staff and Player (if you are going to play):
   • You need to add yourself as staff.  From the menu on the left select Manage Club Users link.
   • You will see your name there.  From the User Type list on the far right, hold down the ctrl key and click on all three types (Club Director, Player, Staff Member) so that all are highlighted (or just Club Director and Staff Member if you are not going to play) and then select UPDATE.
   • If you want to enter the tournament now and complete the roster later go to #6 below.  You can come back later and finish adding staff and players.
4. If you have any other staff (can also be players) who you want on the roster as a Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Rep, Chaperone, etc.
   • Select Staff from the menu on the left.
   • Select ADD STAFF to enter their information manually or IMPORT STAFF if you want to import  from a text file (follow the directions on the web site to create, validate and import your file). 
5. Add your PLAYERS:
   • Select Players from the menu on the left.
   • Select ADD PLAYERS to enter their information manually or IMPORT PLAYERS if you want to import them from a text file (follow the directions on the web site to create, validate and import your file). 
6. Add your TEAM by clicking on ADD TEAM and filling out the information.
7. Enter the Event
   • Select Enter Events from the menu on the left.
   • From the Location drop down box select North Carolina.  You will then see Adult Hi Neighbor.
   • Select the Adult Hi Neighbor link.
   • Select REGISTER TEAM.
   • From the Eligible Teams list go to your team and in the drop down box on the right select the division you wish to enter.
   • Select UPDATE.
   • Select the BUILD ROSTER link on the far right of your team name.
   • In the Staff section select the name of the staff person you want to add to the roster and then select their staff position.  Repeat for all staff you wish to add.
   • Select UPDATE
   • In the available club players section click in the add box for each player you want to add to the roster.  Repeat for all players you want to add.
   • Select UPDATE
8. Confirm/Verify your roster.
9. Print payment page and send with your payment of $165 payable to the ASHEVILLE VOLLEYBALL CLUB. Mail the check and your printed registration page to:

Host Hotel – Clarion Inn Airport

We will be returning to the Clarion Inn Airport (previously Holiday Inn)as the tournament host hotel as well as host of the player party.  Quality and quantity of rooms, along with banquet and party space makes the Clarion Inn Airport very a comfortable fit for us all.   Please take care of the facility so that we will continue to be invited back.  Reserve your room.

Hospitality 

Hospitality begins at the Clarion Inn Airport on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 11:00 p.m.  The Saturday Night Party will be held on Saturday from 8:30 p.m. ‘til! The party is a great opportunity to socialize with your day time opponents and re-connect with players from years’ past.   

Entry Deadline 

Due to the need to schedule facilities, we now have an entry deadline.  All Tournament Entry Forms must be received by Friday March 12, 2010.

• Remember, we accept entries on a first come, first served basis.  This is so we can be fair to all teams. Also note - NO REFUNDS, period.
