Club History
The Triad Volleyball Club and the Piedmont Volleyball Club
have agreed to work together under the Piedmont Triad Volleyball Club. When it comes to tradition & success, it is hard to beat
the Piedmont Triad Volleyball Club. We are proud of our very competitive program that
has been in existence since 1988. The Piedmont Triad Volleyball Club began as Central
Carolina Juniors in 1988 with a girls 18s team and a boys 14s team. Since then,
the club has been known as the Quest Volleyball Club. In 1996, in an effort to
provide a better experience for their more experienced and committed players the
club became the Piedmont Volleyball Club when it affiliated with the CCAVA
program in Asheboro, North Carolina and in 1997 when the Rockingham County
Volleyball Club program became affiliated. Those programs have grown to
the point that they are stand alone club programs. Since 1988, the club has qualified
a team to compete at the USA Junior National Championships in 11 of those years.
Our philosophy focuses on the ability to teach advanced volleyball techniques,
as well as to provide numerous competitive opportunities for people in the
Piedmont area. The Piedmont Triad Volleyball Club is committed to pursuing excellence
in junior volleyball as demonstrated by the competitive record and the
performance of our alumni.
Founded by Chuck McCracken, an active member of U.S.
Junior Olympic Volleyball on the Regional and National Level, the program has
striven to provide an environment of fundamental skill development and solid
team competition to players 18 years of age and under.
The Junior Olympic program is designed to establish teams
by age and skill categories so that competition is balanced and challenging.
The club is open to boys and girls and each player will be carefully evaluated
and placed on a team that closely matches their ability level and age group.
Coaches for Piedmont Triad Volleyball Club are knowledgeable and
experienced in the sport. Several have coached or played on the collegiate
level, as well as directed teams who played at the Junior Olympic National
level.
Along with teaching the skills of the game, recruiting
guidance will also be provided for players who aspire to play on the college
level. Former players from this organization have played in colleges and
universities such as Duke, N.C. State, UNC, Appalachian State University,
UNC-A, UNC-G,
Davidson, Guilford College, Greensboro College, Catawba, Western Carolina,
Emory, George Washington, UNC-Pembroke, Wingate, Grove City, Peace College, Hollins University, St.
Andrews and UT Chattanooga.
