2007 - 2008 Greensboro Tryout Information

Boys Teams and Girls Regional and Developmental Teams

We will field teams in each age group (18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13 and 12) this year (if there are not enough players in an age group we may combine that age group with a higher age group).

Tryouts for our junior girl’s and junior boy’s teams will take place over two sessions to allow players to go through some physical tests and to demonstrate their skills.   Players are only required to attend one of the tryout sessions and should try to attend the other session to give coaches the best chance to correctly evaluate them. 

Tryouts will be held at the Greensboro Sportsplex.

Tuesday, November 6^th

5:45 – 7:45 PM (15, 14, 13, 12 and all boys).

7:30 – 9:30 PM (18, 17, 16).

Thursday, November 8^th

5:45 – 7:45 PM (15, 14, 13, 12 and all boys).

7:30 – 9:30 PM (18, 17, 16).

Required Forms and Payments at Tryouts

1. Proof of Carolina Region – USA Volleyball Membership registration - $45 ($30 if registered online and paid by November 1st).  Carolina Region Online Registration Information Start Page.  USA Volleyball membership fee is paid to the Carolina Region. 2. Proof of Piedmont Triad Volleyball Club registration.

3.  Medical Release must be filled out prior to the first tryout.

4. Mail or bring the membership registration confirmation, medical release form, photocopy of your birth certificate (which we can keep), club fee or required deposit (separate check) and the $40 tryout fee to the first tryout that you attend.  The $40 tryout fee which will be deducted from your total fees if you are accepted on a team and is non-refundable and covers all tryouts.   Players trying out for the National teams and not invited to participate on a national team may tryout for a Regional team in either the Winston-Salem or Greensboro area without an additional fee.  Fund raising and financial assistance may be available.

2007 - 2008 Greensboro Area Boys Teams

Once we know we have enough boys to form a team we will establish their schedule (tournament and practice) and develop their budget.  To get an idea of the upper end of what they could do see the Regional Team information below.  There are some boys teams in Virginia so some of the tournaments could be in Virginia.  Fill out the forms and pay the tryout fee.

2007 - 2008 Greensboro Area Regional Teams

Regional Teams play in North Carolina. Regional teams will practice twice per week and play in 7 tournaments.  The total cost for Regional teams is $865 (per person) and breaks down as follows:

1. $650 club fee (or $40 tryout fee and $400 deposit [separate check] with balance of $210 due by December 15th, 2007) paid to the Piedmont Triad Volleyball Club.  Cost does not include hotel (generally an overnight stay is not required), travel and food for the player.  It includes: equipment, uniform, officiating clinic, Carolina Region, Quest For Excellence tournament entry fees and coaches honoraria.

3. $175 facility fee for practices for the season is paid directly to the Greensboro Sportsplex and must be paid by the team's first practice.

2007 - 2008 Regional Team Playing Schedule

* SAT test date, please schedule around this date or let your coach know at least 4 weeks in advance that you will be taking the test and will miss the tournament (or portion thereof).

2007 - 2008 Greensboro Area Developmental Teams

Developmental Teams practice and scrimmage once per week through the end of February.  The total cost for Developmental teams is $480 (per person) and breaks down as follows:

1. $355 club fee (or $40 tryout fee and $200 deposit [separate check] with balance of $115 due by December 15th, 2007) paid to the Piedmont Triad Volleyball Club and includes: equipment, t-shirt uniform, officiating clinic and coaches honoraria.
