Welcome to The Great Eight High School Volleyball Tournament (a Quest For Excellence Series event). The Great Eight High School Volleyball Tournament features the teams that played for the four divisions (1A, 2A, 3A and 4A) of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association State Championships the previous year. The tournament is held at the Greensboro Sportsplex. On Friday evening we have the rematch (3 out-of-5) of the state championship match. On Saturday, the four teams that won on Friday go into the Championship Bracket and the four teams that lost go into the Consolation Bracket. Teams play two games to 25 against each team in their bracket. The winner of the Championship Bracket wins the tournament. Also, on Saturday morning there is a breakfast for the teams with a speaker. This year's speaker will be Emily Hayes, Head Volleyball Coach at Guilford College. Each team is provided 5 hotel rooms for players and coaches on Friday night. 2008 Great 8 Playing Schedule
